Week
Tuesday night.............PG @ Columbus Grove, Battle of S.R. 12 6 miles separate these two rivals, and while not as intense as the football wars of yesteryear, it still makes the blood boil when these two schools play in anything........... PG is coming off a very emotional win vs. Arlington tonight, and Grove is playing at a very high level after destroying Continental this evening 65-50........... Though my heart says "Rockets, Rockets, Rockets"............my head says otherwise...........if the game were at the Launching Pad I might digress and pick my belove PG'ers, but this game will be played in the not-so friendly confines of the DawgPound........neither team can probably share in the PCL title, but both are still mathematically alive in the BVC and NWC title chases..................a win by the Rockets could launch a respectable tourney run, while CG is looking to fine-tune that Northwest Injection scoring machine...........zoooooom CG 60 PG 52
Two of the more renowned high school coaches in Ohio take their
teams into Savage Hall on the University of Toledo's campus this
Friday night for the right to "bring" home the bacon for
next year's team.........both
Coach Heinschel and Coach Suboticki know the rewards that this game can bring in the annual recruiting war between these two schools..............for the last 10 years or so the Airport Johnnies have pretty much had their way in the battle for Toledo's best players...............with the arrival of Coach Joe Suboticki 2 years ago, the stakes have ratcheted up as the Bancroft Ave. Knights have slowly been gaining some lost respect................. Both teams come into the game looking to secure a top seed in the tournament drawing that following Sunday............both teams know that a victory will help out immensely in persuading certain physically superior athletes to attend that school the following year.............and both coaches know that the "money flow" increases substancially with a win vs. their rival................so batten down the hatches, and get there early for a good seat as this one promises to bring the excitement that high school athletics is about........zooooooooom oh, my prediction.....
