The GBA.....and now the BBA
 It’s coming to a court near you.
That’s the intention of Jeff Ferguson, director of the Girls’ Basketball
Association and now the Boys Basketball Association, which is planning a
major expansion in 2006.
Ferguson began his organization 8 years ago and thus far tournaments
have only been held in Ohio for girls, but the BBA will now be doing boys events.
“We started doing events in 1997 without enough teams to even have a full
tournament,” Ferguson related, “but we got established in Ohio and by 2000,
we had 241 teams in our tournaments. We’ve continued to grow as the number
of teams was up to 968 in 2002 and last year in 2005 we had over 1,450 teams
and 10,000 girls playing in our events.”
